Kenneth John Abella, 20, of Roanoke Rapids, died Tuesday, July 6, 2010.

Kenneth was the son of Ricardo Boco ''Rick'' Abella and Azucena Molo ''Susie'' Abella. He was a native of Carigara, Leyte in the Philippines. Kenneth was an active member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. He loved to sing and play the guitar. Kenneth loved all sports, especially basketball, which he played often at T. J. Davis Recreation Center with his brother and friends. His many friends will always remember his smile and kind heart.

He is survived by his parents; two sisters, Rizie Abella and Leslie Grace Abella, of the Philippines; two brothers, Kit Richard Abella of the Philippines and Koby Rick Abella of Roanoke Rapids; maternal grandmother, Lilia Molo; and paternal grandmother, Elisea Abella, both of the Philippines.

Askew Funeral & Cremation Services in Roanoke Rapids is handling the arrangements, where a rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 11 in the funeral home chapel, followed by a visitation. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, July 12, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Roanoke Rapids with Father Pius Wekesa officiating.
